Fallingwater is a house designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935 in rural southwestern Pennsylvania. The house was built partly over a waterfall on Bear Run in the Mill Run section of Stewart Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, located in the Laurel Highlands of the Allegheny Mountains. The house was designed as a weekend family home.

Located in Paulista Avenue in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, this art museum is well know for its headquarters, a 1968 concrete and glass structure designed by Lina Bo Bardi. Its main body is supported by two lateral beams over a 74 metres (243 ft) freestanding space, considered a landmark of the city and a main symbol of modern Brazilian architecture.

Forbidden City lies at the city center of Beijing, and once served as the imperial palace for 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 – 1911). It was first built throughout 14 years during the reign of Emperor Chengzu in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
Now known as the Palace Museum, it is the world’s largest palace complex and covers 74 hectares. Surrounded by a 52-meter-wide moat and a 10-meter-high wall are more than 8,700 rooms.

The glass and iron reading room has been described as “magisterial” and the building itself as a seminal work in the creation of the modern library as “a temple of knowledge and space for contemplation”.

The Innovation, Science and Technology (IST) Building is Florida Poly’s flagship building and the main classroom and laboratory building. The 162,000-square-foot, white-domed building is a movable and functional work of art, with a louvered roof system that moves throughout the day providing passive lighting inside the second-floor atrium.

The Sheats Goldstein Residence is a home designed and built between 1961 and 1963 by American architect John Lautner in the Beverly Crest neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The building was conceived from the inside out and built into the sandstone ledge of the hillside; a cave-like dwelling that opens to embrace nature and view.
The house is an example of American Organic Architecture that derives its form as an extension of the natural environment and of the individual for whom it was built.
